Alawiya Subh, (علوية صبح) 1954- ) ), Lebanese writer born in Beirut. She received her primary education at public schools in Beirut and her secondary education at the public RamI al-Zarif School. She received a B.A. in Arabic literature and language from the College of Education at the Lebanese University in 1978 and a B.A. in English literature from the College of Liberal Arts at the Lebanese University.
She worked at the newspaper, al-Nida', in 1979 and at al-Nabar from 1981 to 1986. She was editor in chief of al-Hama' from 1984 to 1993. She founded the journal, Snob al-basna' in 1994 and was its editor. She has published several literary pieces in the Lebanese and Arab press, and she has been a literary and art critic for al-Nabar, al-Nida', ai-Tariq, and ai-Sa fir. She is a member of the Lebanese Writers' Union. For twelve years she taught in public high schools in Beirut.
