Biography:

Maryam Al Ghafli (مريم الغفلي) is an Emirati author who has published two fiction books; Bakhita’s Well and Daughter of the Rain. She has an interest in the history and heritage of the UAE and its natural environment.  She is also a member of the Mohammed bin Khalid Religious and Cultural Heritage Center. Maryam’s interest in UAE History and heritage also includes its language. She often uses Emirati slang words in her writing in order to revive its popularity and also so that Emirati colloquial language does not disappear as time passes.
