Biography:
In 2001 she relocated to Nicosia, Cyprus. Her writing has been shaped by experiences of war and dislocation as well as cultural interaction. She has published her poetry and creative prose in many journals and anthologies, including World Literature Today, South Atlantic Quarterly, Banipal: Magazine of Modern Arab Literature, The Poetry of Arab Women, Worlds in Our Words, The Space Between our Footsteps, and Unrooted Childhoods: Memoirs of Growing up Global, as well as in the chapbooks These Words and What She Said. Her critical publications include three co-edited volumes of critical essays: Going Global: The Transnational Reception of Third World Women Writers (Garland, 2000), Intersections: Gender, Nation and Community in Arab Women's Novels (Syracuse University Press, 2002), and Etel Adnan: Critical Essays on the Arab American Writer and Artist (McFarland Publishing, 2002).
